Hotel Le Dune is situated in the centre of the spectacular sandy valley of Piscinas on the south-western coast of Sardinia, between Capo Pecora and Capo Frasca. With a backdrop of an intense azure sea and only 150m from a splendid beach a few kilometres long, the three main buildings are linked to each other by an enchanting internal courtyard and by a little square overlooking the sea.
The hotel was once an eighteenth century mine where the extracted minerals – lead, zinc and silver – were deposited and transported by the small railway of Ingurtosu, a once flourishing and active ancient village, now silent and in semi-ruins but classified as ‘World Heritage Site’ by Unesco.
Also the hotel itself, a great house in grey stone and golden plasterwork which was part of the abandoned site with the ancient stables of draft horses and today houses Punic and Roman archaeological artefacts, has been declared a national monument for its historical and artistic qualities.
In the hotel’s two restaurants, the best selection of typical Sardinian cuisine can be enjoyed, a rich choice of delicious recipes and fresh seasonal products of the island. The fantastic scenario created by the sunset on the horizon can be enjoyed from the restaurant in front of the sea.
The Cantina with the best Sardinian wine labels, the American Bar, the wellbeing area run by highly-qualified staff and, above all, the wonderful equipped beach reserved for hotel guests, complete the range of facilities of this exclusive hotel, from which the most important historical and naturalistic sites of the Centre and South of Sardinia can be reached in a short time.

His Opinion: Posizione stupenda, che però andrebbe meglio valorizzata da chi ha in gestione la struttura. Es. palestra, tv in camera (il cliente sceglie se verderla o meno). Il personale pecca un po' sul fronte del marketing (es. siamo stati accolti dicendoci che la camera prenotata era una "standard") e in alcuni casi non conosce nemmeno inglese e francese (ristorante) con qualche difficoltà per la clientela straniera. Il bagno della camera "standard" avrebbe bisogno di essere ammodernato. Servizio spiaggia un po' latitante ( mi sono pulita da sola il lettino).

His Opinion: Location, location, location!!! Well, and a very good restaurant, and upgraded to a lovely room with sea view because of problem with our room causing delay on arrival, and very helpful staff, ... expensive, yes, but really glad we spoiled ourselves here for one night!
