The original construction of the Hotel Monumento Monasterio de San Clodio, dates back to the twelfth century, having been declared today a National Monument.
This beautiful ancient monastery is located in the heart of Ribeiro, in Orense. Its thick stone walls and high ceilings, still tell their story, they retain the peace and quiet of the original cloisters which were then inhabited by monks.
Its 25 rooms were the old medieval cells where the monks used to sleep, so they are all spacious and offer a classic and elegant decoration, equipped with all modern technologies and excellent care to detail.
The decoration is different depending on the room. They all offer beautiful views of the vineyards and the pine forests that surround the monastery, you can rest assured that you will find peace here.
The monastery's restaurant, serves a variety of options, among them, typical Galician dishes such as: rice with lobster, or beef, or lamb. Besides the Monastery of San Clodio has a large variety of wines not only from Galicia but from other parts of Spain.
