Set in the fourth century context of ‘Castello di San Pietro in Cerro’ a short distance from Piacenza and Cremona, “Locanda del Re Guerriero” is a new hotel welcomes guests to the ancient mews and houses of the farm-workers and coachmen, inside the Castle’s vast park.
The building of medieval origins is reached by passing the majestic avenue of lime trees; it has been documented since 1720 and has been lovingly renovated to offer you a refined and exclusive stay. The bedrooms complete its modern comfort, with wireless internet, and are furnished elegantly with touches of the aristocratic style of the time, enriched by contemporary art works from MiM – Museum in Motion, the large collection of the owner, Franco Spaggiari, set up in the evocative surroundings of the attic in the Castle. A well with unusual double turnstile can be admired in the reception hall area. Thanks to skilful restoration, 21st century comfort perfectly blends with the history and natural beauty of the place – ideal for a relaxing holiday surrounded by the silence of the countryside, with the possibility of experiencing all the magic of the ancient Castle close up and the wonderful surrounding area which can be explored on foot, by bicycle or horse.
The surroundings boast lots of artistic and cultural heritage and an excellent local cuisine waiting to be discovered and tasted. Furthermore, only for Locanda guests - on booking, and groups of 15 or more, there is also the possibility of dining at the hotel.
The renaissance town of Cortemaggiore, the ancient village of Castell’Arquato on the lower slopes of Val d’Arda, the ‘terre Verdiane’ and naturalistic routes along the banks of the Po river can be reached in a few minutes by car.

His Opinion: Ottima struttura ed accoglienza. Gentilissime le persone della gestione e luogo ottimo per rilassarsi e riposarsi con luoghi interessanti da visitare a portata di passeggiata. Unico neo a chi piace il sole ed il caldo (ottimo il riscaldamento interno) è stata la nevicata...... che però ha reso il soggiorno particolare!!

His Opinion: Luogo adatto per momenti di relax, paesaggio e location bellissmi, massima cortesia del personale e graditissimo e più che apprezzato giro turistico con guida del castello. Ottima anche la colazione. Largamente consigliato.

His Opinion: Non posso che dire bene, benissimo della Locanda del Re Guerriero. Camera magnifica, personale gentile, puntuale senza inutili assilli e moine. Unico appunto che mi sento di muovere: troppo caldo e se ne è lamentata persino mia moglie... sempre freddolosa. Spero di tornarci presto. Buon lavoro e grazie!

His Opinion: Ho soggiornato nella suite numero 7 ed è molto bella. Il giardino è tenuto benissimo e lo staff estremamente cortese. Unico neo,il castelo chiuso e non abbiamo potuto visitare il suo interno. Da non perdere

His Opinion: We were very pleased with our stay. It should be rated at least a FOUR STAR for the quality of the premises and the service. We were in a four star hotel the next night which was way lower in both quality and service.
We highly recommend this quiet country side place. Visit the castle, it is beautiful inside. It makes you appreciate the life style of the time.
Please make sure you ask for restaurants location for diner since the number of opened restaurants is limited nearby at night in May.

His Opinion: A lovely hotel. Service better than excellent! As there is no bar in the hotel I would have liked coffee/ tea making facilities in my room.
