In the aristocratic and monumental city of Ubeda, on the road towards the Renaissance and close to some of the most beautiful buildings, there's the Parador, in an age-old building built in the XVI century and renovated in the following century, belonging to the Dean of the Sacred Chapel of El Salvador.
The “Palace of Dean Ortega” is on the Place de Vazquez de Molina, in the picturesque historic neighbourhood of the city, close to the Sacred Chapel of El Salvador, the palace of the Marquis de Mancera and Molina Vazquez, today the head offices of the Municipal building. With its maze of streets and alleys and buildings of various styles, from Gothic to Renaissance influences, Romans and Arabs, the city is considered one of the most beautiful of Spain. Another interesting place is the nearby town of Baeza, only 8 km away.
The facade of the hotel is an attractive courtyard with a double gallery whose top part is stained-glass window. The cosy rooms are distinguished by the height of their ceilings. Particularly noteworthy are the six rooms that overlook the square, while in the opposite corner from, where we have a wide scenic view of Plaza de Vazquez de Molina, there’s the "Dukes" room which is the largest most elegant and luxurious of all the rooms.
Inside details such as the original floor of the Palace, the coffered ceiling and a beautiful decorative fireplace, all Andalusian details that adorn the dining room where typical dishes are served such as "oxtail in red wine from Loma", "goat stew with pine nuts", "Partridge stuffed peppers”, whatever the dish ordered, success is assured.
